Domestic & General, the leading specialist warranty provider, is delighted to celebrate the marking of another key achievement in its history, reaching the eight million customer mark in the UK.
For over sixty years Domestic & General has providing product protection for major domestic appliances, consumer electronics and central heating systems. Despite the challenging economic conditions in recent years, we have continued to enjoy considerable success through a clear strategy of focusing on the needs of our customers and developing a range of products to reflect changing market trends.
Our specialism in the post-point of sale market has evolved through the development of our telephone and website registration channels, making it easier for customers to understand and purchase warranties. At the same time we have expanded our range of products to meet evolving consumer needs. Our Multiplan product, which protects three or more appliances for one simple monthly payment, is proving very popular, as customers buy ever increasing numbers of appliances that they find they just can't be without. Similarly well-received has been our unique Repair & Protect product, which offers a manufacturer-approved repair on a broken appliance as well as a further period of protection. The success of these products, along with our core warranties, means that we now look after over 12 million appliances, double that of only 5 years ago.
Our growth is also a result of our success in building long term relationships with our clients. We work continually with our manufacturer and repair partners to ensure that our customers receive the highest possible levels of care and service in the event of a breakdown. We are especially proud that 93% of our customers who have had a repair from us say they were satisfied with the service they received.
