26 February 2013 - Domestic & General Celebrates the Milestone of 15 Million Customers

Domestic & General, the leading specialist warranty provider, is delighted to report its continued strong growth, with now more than 15 million customers and 21 million appliances protected across the UK and its international markets.

For over sixty years Domestic & General has provided product protection for major domestic appliances, consumer electronics and central heating systems. This achievement demonstrates our strength and resilience, as well as just how many people rely on us to look after them when things go wrong.

International expansion continues to be a key part of our business strategy. We now protect over 7 million customers across 11 countries and are continuing to develop at a strong rate through our relationships with both retailers and manufacturers across multiple territories. We now work across Germany, Spain, France, Australia, Portugal, Ireland, Austria, Poland, New Zealand, Belgium and Italy, where we opened our newest office last year. Demand is strong in all of our key markets, having developed and launched products for all customer touchpoints from point of sale, point of registration, direct marketing campaigns, and our Repair & Protect product offered at point of need.

In the UK we now have over 8 million customers and look after more than 13 million appliances. This growth has been driven largely by our long-standing relationships with the leading manufacturers. We are proud to work with nine of the ten largest appliance manufacturers in the country, as well as leading high street retail brands. We are well placed to maximise the benefits of these partnerships due to our investment in increasingly sophisticated customer profiling and marketing initiatives and a strong focus on developing our core products and channels.

Mark Berryman, Executive Director at Domestic & General, said, "Over the past year we have celebrated our centenary and looked back with great pride at our achievements in that time. Now we are looking forward with considerable optimism, certain that our long experience and proven business model will provide us with a solid platform as we open up the untapped potential in our newer markets. We have ambitious plans for the coming years, and we are confident that they can be achieved."
