19 May 2015 - Rockinghorse named Domestic & General charity of the year
The Brighton office elected Rockinghorse as its local charity of the year following the inaugural vote across the 900-strong contact centre team.
Many employees have a personal affiliation with Rockinghorse, knowing individuals and families who’ve been supported through the charity’s work.
Craig White, Domestic & General Contact Centre Director said: “Rockinghorse is a wonderful charity, helping the most precious and often most vulnerable little lives. When a child is sick, there aren’t many human beings who wouldn’t do whatever is in their power to alleviate suffering. Rockinghorse supports those on the front line and an overwhelming majority of our employees recognise and value its hard work and want to help.”
Analiese Doctrove, Head of Fundraising at Rockinghorse, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as Domestic & General’s local charity of the year. We’re very much looking forward to working with the Brighton office and the abundance of passionate people working there who want to support our work and believe in what we do.”
Rockinghorse is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and also supports the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. The charity raises money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, while ensuring that children are treated in an environment that is better suited to their needs. It has been supporting children in Brighton for nearly 50 years.
The organisation doesn’t receive any government funding, so relies on the support of individuals, community groups, companies and trusts.
